Winchester Embroiderers' Guild welcomes contemporary and traditional textile artists, embroiderers and craft enthusiasts

The SEW Region AGM was hosted by Newbury Brand on 15th October 2016. Registered members can view the Chairmans Report 2016 and the AGM Report 2016 in the SEW Region News section.

The Newbury Embroiderers' Guild website reports "The SEW Region AGM was held at St George's Hall Newbury on Saturday 15th Oct in conjunction with our branch 40th Anniversary celebration. The event was very well attended and we spent a lovely day browsing through tables of fabrics, threads and craft supplies brought along by our invited traders; chatting with friends and tucking into coffee and a wide variety of cakes!

Jan Beaney was our guest speaker. She enthralled us all with images of her work and the details of how pieces developed from sketches made in the variety of places visited."

Please see the article by Alice Brady, a 3rd year student at the Royal School of Needlework, who spoke on the 11 November 2016 at a Lecture with Lt Col Neil Stace, with regard to the history of Sweetheart Pincushions.

All members should have have received a copy of the November Winchester Guild Branch Newsletter. It is mailed out to you using a secure emailing service called Mailchimp, to which you are subscribed when you join the Guild. You do have the option of unsubscribing but I do not recommend this as it means you will not get any emails or newsletters from the Branch. Please do email Eliza if you have mistakenly unsubscribed and want to be re-instated to the list. If you did not recieve the Newsletter then a copy of it can be viewed in the Branch Newsletters Members' Only section of the website. To access the Members' Only section you need to have registered with the website and be logged in.

We have had a news bulletin from the Embroiderers' Guild Headquarters. To view visit the EG Headquarters Info section in the Members' Area and download the pdf entitled November-2016-News-from-HQ.
