Do look at the lovely work produced by our Young Embroiderers' over Easter.

There are a couple of places available for the exciting workshop on Saturday 22nd April (next Saturday) with Lynda Monk.

It will be at Goodworth Clatford Village Club, SP11 7RE which is a couple of miles outside Andover.

Please be aware that the time allowed for parking at Waitrose may have reduced from 3hrs to 2hrs. There is a £70 fine for overstaying. However the Church has made us aware of alternative parking that may be used. Please use this parking if you are able-bodied and do not have a lot of things to bring to the meeting so leaving the on-site parking free for those with a lot to carry or those less able to walk. Thank you.

Be sure to look at the beautiful work by our branch members from the recent workshop with Zoe Hillyard on Boro.

The Embroiderers' Guild announces "page 17" exhibitition. Click here to find out more about how to submit work.

The Embroiderers' Guild has been approached by the TV company who produces ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’ for Sky Arts. They are currently looking for artists to apply to take part in the new series, and are hoping this will be of interest to members of the Embroiderers' Guild as they want to open this competition out to embroiderers who create textile landscape pieces. Thinking about all the wonderful work created for the Capability Brown project it is hoped members may be happy to enter their work. The deadline for applications is Friday 28th April at midday - but applicants only need to submit an artwork they’ve already created, not create a new piece for the competition. For more information see WebsiteFacebookTwitter and Instagram and the flyer about the show.

Eliza is looking for someone to help with promotion and marketing. She has managed to secure a great opportunity - a window display for the Creative Crafts shop in Winchester to show case the fabulous work that our members create and to promote WEG and the Young Embroiderer's in the Winchester area. One of the main objectives is to encourage membership of the branch as despite the recent new members our membership is falling. The window display will be in September but will require planning and collating of work. If you would like to be involved in this project please get in touch with Eliza. There is also the possibility of running a demonstration/workshop in the shop on a Saturday to coincide with the display.

This will be from 7-10th September. We are awaiting feedback from the organisers on our proposal to offer this as our National Day of Stitch contribution. Volunteers are required to form a sub-committee to organise the branch input for this weekend.

Thank you to Margaret Lawson for stepping up to fill the vacant position on the committee to help Karen with the Programme and Workshop.
