Next Meeting - Hilary Charlesworth

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 12th June at St Barnabas Church. The meeting will start at 2 pm, doors open and help with setting up from 1:30 pm. The speaker will be Hilary Charlesworth, who will be talking about Painting with Yarns - Woven Tapestry. The following day she will be giving her workshop on Tapestry Weaving. We still have one or two vacancies for this workshop with Hilary Charlesworth, who will be exploring woven tapestry. The cost is £25.00.  If you would like to take part in the workshop please contact Karen.

National Day of Stitch

A few members have been very busy preparing the strips for embroidery for the National Day of Stitch. Don't forget WEG will be celebrating stitch at C&H, Winchester from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 22nd June 2019.

Stitching Group

stitching groupThe Stitching Group will resume later in the year if there is sufficient interest. We are considering a different date and a different venue - if you would be interested in attending a morning session once a month please let Eliza know. 

 

Sales Table

Thanks to everyone for donating to the sales table and please don’t stop giving, anything however large or small is welcome and if you need any help with picking up or transporting please contact Teresa. Give donations to Teresa and she will add them to the sales table. Due to everyone’s generosity both with supplying and buying from the sales table we are going to have a donations box for you so you can browse and then drop your contribution into the donations box rather than having to be ‘observed’. Please give what you feel is appropriate for the items you have. There is no minimum or maximum and we just ask that items that may be a little more special such as say gold threads are considered in the level of donation if you can.

Windsor and Maidenhead Members' Exhibition - Elizabeth House in Cookham Rise, running fro 17th September to 12th October 2018. Open weekdays 9-3pm and 11-3pm at the weekends

Threads Through Revelation at Guildford Cathedral 22nd August to 12 October 

 

Winchester Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild is run entirely by a committee of volunteers and other non-committee members, without whose help the branch would not be able to run. We rely on rotas of general members to run the sales table, serve teas/coffees and steward at exhibitions. If you feel you could contribute in any way to help running the branch please contact the chairman. We are currently without a Treasurer (Book-keeping) and in desperate need of someone to come forward to co-ordinate the Sales Table.
