Winchester Embroiderers' Guild welcomes contemporary and traditional textile artists, embroiderers and craft enthusiasts

Anthea Godfrey, Artistic Director and Jan Beaney and Jean Littlejohn, Joint Presidents of the Embroiderers' Guild, are once again involved with the Members' Challenge for 2016/2017. They hope that many members will be excited by the title as it offers many opportunities for a variety of interpretations.
The title this year is "Imprisoned Splendour".

It is open to all members of the Embroiderers' Guild. The judging panel felt that this subject has great potential for interpretation and style. This subject also allows for some interesting compositional entries with focus on the placement or arrangement of visual elements. It should appeal to many members and suit a range of different approaches. The judges have no pre-conceived ideas and hope to be surprised and excited by a wide range of entries. For details of the competition download the pdf, which is available to website-registered members who are logged in to the site in the Members' Only section EG Headquarters Info. Please make sure you read the regulation thoroughly but to summarise: the closing date is Fri 27th Feb 2017 (entries submitted after this date will not be included in the competition.) and all entries to measure 30 x 30cm.
